                Sub:- Proposed day long Dharna on 08.12.2008.

                Ref:-  No. ST/U-58/MEA/2008-09/Pt.IV dated 5^th December, 2008.         

       Kindly refer to the letter cited above, intimating proposed day long Dharna on 08.12.2008 as per the call given by United Forum of BSNL & MTNL Executives’ Associations, Mumbai.

      Associations under the above Forum are protesting against the dual policy of Government/DOT on the issue of absorption of Gr.A Officers in MTNL/BSNL.  The uncertainty on the part of Government/DOT is jeoparadizing the career progression of the absorbed officers and affecting the performance of both the PSUs.

        The members of the Association are very much agitated over this issue and are determined to focus their resentment through this agitation.  However, considering the prevailing Law & Order situation in Mumbai, this Association has decided to focus the resentment by wearing a Black Badge on 08.12.2008 demanding repatriation of absorbed Executives to DOT.

       We request you to convey the resentment by the members of the Association to Corporate Office, MTNL & DOT.

      Administration vide their letter under reference, has drawn the attention of the Court Order  No.3009 of 2003 dtd. 17.11.2003.    It is pertinent to point out that the name of the Association is not figuring in the said case and in the Judgement and hence restraining the Association from conducting their righteous activities quoting the above case is not just and proper..

       Administration is also aware that many Associations & Unions have conducted agitation programmes in the premises of MTNL, Mumbai after the judgment. We request the Administration to clarify  and respond, if they hold a different view than expressed above with regard to conducting agitation programmes inside the premises of MTNL, Mumbai by this Association.
